Cumberland County Government wishes to share information on White Flag shelter locations that will be open tonight, Thursday, Dec. 21 for residents who need a place to escape freezing temperatures. The National Weather Service is forecasting temperatures near freezing during the early morning hours of Friday, Dec. 22.
Cornerstone Christian Empowerment Center will open a White Flag shelter overnight tonight from 6 p.m. until 8 a.m. tomorrow. Cornerstone Christian Empowerment Center is located at 111 N. Bragg Blvd., Spring Lake. Intake will be from 6 to 11 p.m. Transportation will be provided back and forth from the corner of Ray Avenue and Grove Street at the Family Fare BP gas station across from Festival Park. Pick-up time is 6 p.m. and return time is 6:30 a.m. tomorrow. Dinner and breakfast will be provided at the shelter.
