Cumberland County improved from the Orange to Yellow Tier on May 27, according to the N.C. Department of Health of Human Services’ (NCDHHS) COVID-19 County Alert System. This is based on case rate, percent positive and hospital impact score.
Cumberland County is one of 41 counties statewide that improved from Orange Tier (Substantial Spread) to Yellow Tier (Significant Spread). The County Alert System is updated every two weeks.
The Cumberland County Department of Public Health (CCDPH) is offering the COVID-19 vaccine to individuals ages 12 and up at various locations throughout the county.
Cumberland County Updates
According to the state dashboard, 309 Cumberland County residents have died from COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic. There have been 29,531 cases in Cumberland County reported since the onset of the pandemic.
Cumberland County’s COVID-19 case positivity rate is 6.1% The World Health Organization recommends a positive rate of 5%.
The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services reports that 25.8% of Cumberland County’s population has received their first vaccination shot while 22.8% are fully vaccinated. This does not include vaccinations given on Fort Bragg or at Veterans Affairs medical facilities.
Fourteen providers in Cumberland County offer vaccinations at 20 locations. Find your spot at https://myspot.nc.gov/ to become fully vaccinated.
Vaccine Clinic Information
All individuals (age 12 and up) may schedule appointments on the County’s COVID-19 vaccine page at co.cumberland.nc.us/covid19vaccine. An online application form allows individuals to choose their own appointment date and time for the first dose and second dose of the vaccine. Second doses are automatically scheduled after the first dose is received. Upcoming clinic dates are as follows:
