FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Cumberland County Board of Elections announces that the filing period for the 2026 Partisan Primary and General elections will begin Monday, Dec. 1, 2025, at 12 p.m. and close Friday, Dec. 19, 2025, at 12 p.m.
Candidates may file at the Cumberland County Board of Elections office during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the following exceptions:

Monday, Dec. 1: Filing opens at 12 p.m. and continues until 5 p.m.

Friday, Dec. 19: Filing is available from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The Board of Elections office is located in the E. Newton Smith Center, 227 Fountainhead Lane, Suite 101, Fayetteville.
The 2026 Partisan Primary will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, and the General Election will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026.
